What is IAL Paper Tracker?
A free website for Edexcel International A Level (IAL) students. You log your mark on a past paper and it shows your grade and UMS for that exact paper and exam series, using Pearson's official grade boundaries. It also tracks which past papers you've done, your trends over time, a daily streak and countdowns to your exams.
Is it free?
Yes. You just need an account (email or Google sign-in) so your logged papers are saved.
Which subjects does it cover?
- Mathematics: P1–P4, M1–M3, S1–S3, D1, F1–F3
- Physics: WPH11–WPH16
- Also: Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business, Accounting, IT, Psychology and Law
Which exam series are included?
Every IAL series from January 2019 up to June 2026 that Pearson has published grade boundaries for. New series are added when Pearson releases the boundaries.
How does it work out my grade?
Each paper in each exam series has its own raw-mark grade boundaries, set by Pearson. The tracker compares your mark to the boundaries for that specific paper and sitting, so the same mark can give a different grade on a different paper.
Is 100 UMS the same as 100%?
No. UMS is a scaled score. Pearson fixes the grade boundaries to set UMS points (A at 80% of the unit's maximum UMS, B at 70%, C at 60%, D at 50%, E at 40%, and A* at 90% on A2 units) and scales linearly in between.
Full UMS is reached before full raw marks. At AS it is capped at the A boundary plus twice the A–B gap; at A2 it is usually the A* boundary plus the A*–A gap. So you can get full UMS without getting every mark. The tracker does this for every paper automatically.
Where do the grade boundaries come from?
Pearson Edexcel's official IAL grade boundary PDFs for each exam series. You can see them all on the IAL grade boundaries page. The site is not affiliated with Pearson.
Does it have the past papers and mark schemes?
No. Papers and mark schemes belong to Pearson, so get them from the Pearson qualifications website. The tracker is for recording and understanding your results.
Who can see my marks?
Only you. Your account can only read its own records, and you can delete your account and everything in it at any time. See the privacy notice.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any browser on phone, tablet or computer, and your data syncs across devices when you sign in.
